Freedom doesn’t exist without consciousness—let that sink in for a moment.

I recently heard these words in reference to healing trauma, but for me, every aspect of healing from our past and reclaiming our most authentic self has a micro part and a macro part.

The outer always reflects the inner.

In my support of beautiful, compassionate, aware humans and their evolution beyond their trauma story and into experiencing their personal awakening, I often find myself talking about consciousness—especially the impact and importance of bringing the unconscious conscious.

Why?

Because the average human’s conscious mind has been compared to an iceberg—the conscious part makes up about 10%, and the other 90% under the surface is the unconscious mind. Some theories include the subconscious or superconscious—I simply see it as moving from unconsciousness to consciousness and all the degrees in-between until we fully embody Unity Consciousness (or Brahman or Isness or non-separation)

The unconscious mind makes up the most significant percent for most. So why is it essential to bring the unconscious conscious? Because we get in life exactly what our unconscious self wants and believes is possible. Until we do our “work”—bringing our unconscious parts into consciousness—we will be hostage to our unconscious beliefs and limits.

Our life is our litmus test, and it reveals what is hidden in our unconscious mind.

I encourage you to consider your challenges and ask:
What must I believe in order for me to be having this experience?

I encourage you to consider your judgements and ask:
What must I believe in order for me to be having this experience? (yup, your judgement is nothing more than an experience from the unconscious)

I encourage you to consider your successes and ask:
What must I believe in order for me to be having this experience?

Unless we do the work (the “right” work), we will strive towards our desires and yet be left noticing that the experiences we desire and have been striving for are always just out of reach.

As humans on this planet today who are part of this global trauma response, it is imperative to take a deep inward look at our unconscious traumas, stresses, judgements and triggers that are being activated as a result of what is happening around us.

Not one person is free from this activation by the way.

Depending on how much consciousness you have brought to your unconscious in the past, what is activated might look different from someone else, BUT EVERYONE has some aspects of the unconscious wanting to be brought into the conscious to be witnessed and healed.

It is not only our soul’s evolution, but this time in history demands it (I know I’ve brought this up several times over the last two years, but it really is that important).

Some call this time the great awakening. I believe this to be true—the unconscious parts of humanity are moving to the surface and wanting to be awakened and brought into consciousness so that they can be transformed.

We are here to unite in this truth. The moment we see ourselves as separate from another (more awake, more righteous, more anything), we open the door for attack. If you find yourself judging and attacking, remember to ask—”What must I believe to be having this experience?” Because that is what it is—an experience coming to the surface from your unconscious to be integrated.

Bringing the unconscious conscious in my option:

Is our only true learning.
Is our only salvation.
Is our only path to freedom.

We are here for our soul’s evolution—we can’t not evolve—it’s an impossibility. We can choose to fight against unity consciousness, but it’s futile in the end.

The process of bringing the unconscious conscious requires support, learning embodied feeling, using radical inquiry and discovering how to access our inner silence and source of power (place of non-separation).
